The hike trails pass through Shin Gompa and other monasteries and Buddhist shrines and walls. Before joining us in trekking, be sure this is your kind of trek. Think about altitude—starting from Kathmandu at 2000m above sea level, you will trail to Gosaikunda at 4460 m above sea level. Think about altitude sickness, and it always helps to amble to prevent altitude sickness. You might also be prone to leech biting and think of appropriate preventive measures. Itinerary

Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu

Land at Kathmandu airport for fresh cool air, and wait outside to be transferred to your hotel. Suppose you are not too tired to stroll around Kathmandu in the evening.

Day 02: A Day in Kathmandu

Shop your essential items for trekking and visit historical and cultural places in Kathmandu. Visit the Thamel area for necessary trekking shopping. You can also visit UNESCO World heritage sites like the Kathmandu Durbar area, Pashupatinath, Boudhanath, and Patan Durbar square.

Day 3: Kathmandu to SyabruBesi

Today we start trekking. You will travel 122 KM in a bus for 10 hours from Kathmandu (at an altitude of 1300 meters) to Syabru Besi (2000 meters). You will have a good night’s rest at Syabrubesi.

Day 4: SyabruBesi to Lama Hotel

Your real trekking starts today as you will be hiking for 5.5 hours, covering 11.3 Kilometers to reach Lama Hotel at an altitude of 2748 meters. Before starting, you will need to get a trekking permit, as we will be trekking through Langtang National Park. First, you walk across the beautiful trail, cross the Langtang River, Mundu, GhodeTabela, and GumnaChowk villages. Then, reflecting on your day, you will stay overnight in Lama Hotel.

Day 5: To Langtang Valley

Be ready to walk14.8 kilometres for 5 hours to Langtang Valley, which is at an altitude of 3500 meters. You will be thrilled to see the changes in vegetation as you ascend steep trails through forests with hemlock, oak, maple, and rhododendrons. Then the beautiful view of LangtangLirung, and reach GhodeTabela through lush and vast meadows and Tamang villages. And down in the valley, flat-roof houses and stone-walled farming land. Appreciating the beautiful valley, you will have a night halt there.

Day 6: To KyanjinGompa

Today you take a challenge to hike 6.8 KM to Kyanjin Gompa at an altitude of 3870 meters in 5.5 hours. The route comprised flat land and stiff up and down through Buddhist mani-walls (which inscribes Om Padme Mani Hum) and Buddhist prayer flags and a beautiful stream near Mundu village. Upon reaching Kyanjin Gompa (the Buddhist Monastery), you will be enthralled by its beauty and the view of icefalls from Mt LangtangLirung and Kimshung. You relax at night in this area.

Day 7: Back to Lama Hotel

You will hike back to Lama Hotel, climbing down to 2784 meters in 4.5 hours, covering 21.6 KM. You will enjoy the enchanting views of the Himalayas and walking along the Langtang River. You will have dinner and sleep at Lama Hotel.

Day 08: Lama Hotel to Thulo Syabru

Midway on your trekking, you will take 5 hours challenge to Thulo Syabru (2000 meters); you will climb down to Pairo, cross the river, and climb up to Thulo Syabru through scenic Tamang villages, and with amazing views of Langtang Himal. If you are lucky, you will encounter wild Red Pandas. Finally, you will take a good night’s rest at ThuloSyabru.

Day 9: ThuloSyabru to Shin Gompa

Be proud! You have finished half of your trekking challenge. On the 9th day, you will walk 4-5 hours to Shin Gompa (3330 meters), named after the gompa (Buddhist Monastery). Then, you walk uphill to Dimsa Village in Langtang, Durdang, and Forprang Danda (3200 meters), a short walk from where is your destination of the day, Shin Gompa. All your treks of the day are through the forest of rhododendron, hemlock and Oak trees, and you will also enjoy the beautiful views of Langtang Himal and Ganesh Himal. Try the local cheese and stay in Shin Gompa at night.

Day 10: Shin Gompa to Lauribina Yak

Refreshed and energized, you will start the day with a 4-5 hours walk to Lauribina Yak at 3920 meters; firstly, climb to Chalang Pati and view hypnotic views of Mt. Langtang Lirung and the Tibetan mountains from its viewpoint, and continue walking in the scenic forests, habited by red pandas, and climb finally to Laurebina Yak.

Day 11: Lauribina Yak to Gosaikunda Lake

You are almost nearing your destination today! Just walk 4 hours, and you will reach Gosaikunda Lake (4460 meters), passing by Sakyamuni temple, mesmerizing lakes Saraswati Kunda and Bhairav Kunda.

Day 12: Gosaikunda to Gopte

Feel that you are climbing higher and higher! Today, your destination is Gopte at an altitude of 3440 meters, but you walk 6-7 regular and challenging hours. After that, climb rugged routes passing through three small lakes, Lauri Bina pass (4609 meters) and then down to Phedi. Finally, after a hectic day, you stay in Gopte.

Day 13: Gopte to Tharepati

You are tough now, and take the challenge to hike to Tharepati (3640 meters) in 5-6 hours. Many ups and downs, and the last leg of the hike are uphill to your day’s destination. You will be lodged in Tharepati at night.

Day 14: Tharepati to Gul Bhanjayang

Another 5 hours of trekking today to the beautiful village of GulBhanjyang at 2140 meters through Shivapuri National Park, and passing Magen Goth at 3420 meters and Panghu and Khutumsang. You will have a good night’s rest at GulBhanjyang village.

Day 15: Gul Bhanjayang to Chisopani

You are almost finishing off your challenge! Just walk 5-6 hours to Chisopani (2134 meters) through green forests to ascend to ThodangBetini (2260 meters), continue to Chipping and descend to Pati Bhanjyang at 1860 meters. Give one more effort, and you are Chisopani, a favoured sunrise view place. So stay overnight there and enjoy sunrise views.

Day 16: Chisopani to Sundarijal. Drive to Kathmandu

Tired? Do not worry! Today is the last day on your foot in the hills. First, you walk 4-5 hours to Sundarijal (1300 meters) through Shivapuri National Park. Then we will drive you down to Kathmandu city from Sundarijal. It takes about 1.5 hours.
