Adventure Sports Holiday in Nepal

Adventure Sports Holiday in Nepal

With a long Himalayan range, Nepal is among the best places for adventure sports globally. Many parts of the mountains in northern Nepal have no human settlement and have pure nature untouched by modernity. For example, Bhotekoshi in Nepal hosts Asia’s longest and second-longest Bunjee and Swing. If you also like to experience white water rafting, Nepal provides ample opportunities.

Itinerary

Detail Itinerary

Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu

After clearing immigration and customs at the airport, we will be received by the friendly staff from the Himalayan Advisor. We will assist with our transfer to the hotel in vibrant Thamel. After check-in at the hotel, you can rest or roam around the frenetic Kathmandu city. Kathmandu is a labyrinth of streets and markets, crowded with exotic products and a mysterious blend of people. In the evening, savour the delicious Nepali cuisine at a welcome dinner in a local restaurant with the trip briefing. Overnight at a hotel in Kathmandu.

Day 02: Bungee jumping in Bhotekoshi

After a 3-hour drive from Kathmandu, we will reach “The Last Resort” using a sharing vehicle located on top of a gorge close to the Tibetan border. Luxurious safari tents are set in lush gardens in an exotic setting for a peaceful stay. According to the Swiss measurements, the only privately owned bridge in Nepal, the Bunjee Bridge, was designed for bungee jumping with a 4x safety factor and a loading factor of 41,500 kg or 4.5 tons. Ultimate Bunjee is on a vast steel suspension bridge at 166m over the Bhoti Kosi River. Recently opened Swing is another extreme sport optional provided by “The Last Resort”. Return same day evening at your hotel.

Day 03: Rafting to Chitwan National Park via Trishuli

The put-in point for Trisuli River Rafting is just a 3 to 3.5-hour drive west of Kathmandu. Almost the entire year, the rapids encountered on this river are straightforward and well-spaced. Therefore, the Trishuli River is an excellent option for a short river trip without any challenging rapids to raft against. Rafting through the Trisuli River offers beautiful sceneries, a relatively peaceful environment and a glimpse of the cable car travelling toward the famous Hindu Temple Manakamana across the hill. This river attracts a comprehensive set of rafters during the monsoon season because the intensity and frequency of the rapids in this period will have highly elevated. However, certain rafting sections are provided during the monsoon for those looking for an exciting trip! Overnight at a hotel in Chitwan.

Day 04: Chitwan Safari

One of the most visited national parks in the country, The Chitwan National park offers a wilderness of rich ecosystems that includes mammals, birds, reptiles and water species of several kinds. Covered with deciduous forests overlooking the floodplains of Narayani, Rapti and Renu rivers, the park has about 600 plant species, 50 mammals, 562 birds, 49 amphibians and reptiles. The park’s highlight is the Asian one-horned rhinoceros and Royal Bengal Tigers. Other species like rhesus monkeys, grey langurs, deers, leopards, wild boars, wild dogs and wild cats are also found here. The river areas breed amphibians like the endangered Gharial and Mugger Crocodiles. The forest is alive during summer due to the arrival of migratory birds- flycatchers, Indanpina and parakeets. The winter birds include waterfowl, Brahminy ducks, pintails, bar-headed geese, cormorants and migratory birds from Siberia. Overnight in a hotel in Chitwan.

Day 05: Drive to Pokhara

Pokhara is a remarkable place of natural beauty. The city is an adventure centre situated at an altitude of 827m from the sea level and 200km west of Kathmandu (Capital of Nepal) valley. This enchanting city has several beautiful lakes and stunning panoramic views of Himalayan peaks. The serenity of lakes and the magnificence of the Himalayas rising behind them create an ambience of peace and magic. So today, the city has become the starting point for the most popular trekking and rafting destinations and a place to relax and enjoy the beauty of nature. Overnight in a hotel in Pokhara.

Day 06: Paragliding + Zip Line in Pokhara

If you have ever wondered what it would feel like to fly across the sky like a free bird, Paragliding is an ideal option to bring you closer to this feeling. Pokhara is one of the world’s top five commercial tandem Paragliding spots. Paragliding is all about gliding above the earth’s surface and watching the majestic Himalayas, villages, settlements, lakes and jungles from above. Paragliding is that experience no one will ever forget for a lifetime. Overnight in a hotel in Pokhara.

Day 07: Free day in Pokhara

On your second last to Nepal, you can explore the city as you, please. However, boating in the second largest lake in Nepal (Phewa Lake) is a must to experience. There is a small island in the middle of the lake that accommodates the temple of Barahi, which is locally known as the TaalBarahi temple. The boats can be hired for an hour or a day. If you wish, you can boat without an assistant too. Another famous destination of Pokhara is “Pagoda” – a massive Buddhist stupa- situated on top of a hill on the southern shore of Fewa lake. The shrine is a great vantage point that offers a spectacular view of the Annapurna range and Pokhara city.

You can also visit David’s fall, an incredible waterfall about 2 km southwest of Pokhara airport. Another option is to see the Mahendra Gupha- a large limestone cave discovered in 1950. Chamero Gupha, locally called Chamero Odhaar (“House of Bats”), is another cave you can visit and is relatively close to Mahendra Gufa. Finally, a visit to the market can also be an excellent option to explore the city. Pokhara’s traditional bazaar is colourful, and so are its ethnically diverse traders.
Overnight in a hotel in Pokhara.

Day 08: Drive back to Kathmandu

Today we bid goodbye to the beautiful lake city of Pokhara and take a seven-hour drive from Pokhara to Kathmandu. We drive along the beautiful countryside with terrace-farmed fields, traditional houses and the Trishuli River as the road wraps around the hills. Upon reaching Kathmandu, you will be transferred to your hotel for check-in. After check-in at a hotel, you can roam around the vibrant Kathmandu city. You can do some souvenir shopping, visit cultural heritages or relax in a restaurant or a spa in the town. Overnight in a hotel in Kathmandu.

Day 09: Final departure

Our wonderful holiday in this beautiful comes to an end today. However, we can also extend our adventurous memorial holiday into an expedition to explore nature by trekking and hiking. Then, someone will escort you to the international airport for your flight back to your next destination. As we bid the mountains a sad farewell, you will feel a massive sense of fulfilment and a touch of pride for experiencing one of the most adventurous sports. Himalayan Advisor would love to serve you for your future trek and tour holiday in the Himalayas.
